echte Filzpantoffen - real felting slippers

Gestern war ich im Natur- und Umweltzentrum Vogtland zu einem Intensiv-Filzkurs für Pantoffeln. Gefunden habe ich das, als ich bei Sabine auf dem blog gestöbert habe. Ich wollte mich gleich anmelden, aber der Märzkurs war leider schon voll, also musste ich mal wieder warten. Aber gestern war es dann soweit.

Yesterday I was in Natur- und Umweltzentrum Vogtland at an intensive felting course for slippers. I found this advertisment, as I looked through Sabines blog. I would register right now, as I saw it, but  the March course was full, and once more I had to wait. But yesterday the time was come.

Bisher habe ich ja nur strickfilzen gemacht, Sabine sagt "Mogelfilzen", ich sage "faule-Weiber-Filzen". Es ist einfach praktisch, weil die größte Arbeit von der Waschmaschine erledigt wird. Man ist aber bei den Mustern und Möglichkeiten doch ein bisschen eingeschränkt, weil eben beim stricken und häkeln alles immer von der Nadelstärke oder dem Muster abhängt.
Inzwischen findet man ja alles im Internet, auch Anleitungen, wie man was macht. Und so bin ich schon einmal über das Filzen von Pantoffeln gestolpert, habe es gelesen und weitergeblättert. Erst seit ich selber als Hausschuhe Pilzpantoffeln trage, ist es wieder aus dem dunklen Kämmerlein der Gehirnschublade nach vorne gerückt. Wurde aber immer noch als zu aufwändig beiseite geschoben. Diese Ankündigung kam für mich so spontan, dass ich genauso spontan beschlossen habe, nun ist es Zeit. Hinzu kam, dass ich Sabine nun auch schon eine Weile kenne ... per email.

Until now I only felted knitted and crocheted things. Sabine said "cheat-felting", I say "lazy-women-felting". It is real practical because the most work will be done from the washing mashine. But I´m limited with the design and the possibilities as at knitting and crocheting a lot depend on the needle size and pattern.
Meanwhile you can find anything in the internet, also instructions and what has to be done how. And so I read one time something about slipper felting, read it and went to the next page. Since I use felting slippers by myself for home I remember the black box in the brain. But it was moved back as I thought it is too expensive in time. This advertisement came so impulsive that I also such impulsive decide, now it´s time. Additional was, that since a while I know Sabine ... by mail.

Wir waren tatsächlich nur zu zweit als Lehrlinge, da konnten wir richtig viele Fragen stellen. Und: zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben war ich froh, Kinderfüße zu haben. Nein, schon zum zweiten Mal. Socken stricken geht für mich auch viiiel schneller, als für alle anderen.

At the end we were only two trainees and could quest everything we want. And: it was the first time that I was happy about my children feet. No, the second time. To knit socks for me is muuuch more faster than for all others.

Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und ich habe festgestellt, wenn man es richtig macht (und gut gezeigt und erklärt bekommt) macht es gar nicht so viel Schweinerei, wie ich angenommen habe.

We had a lot of fun and I found out, if I make it on the right way (and get shown and described real good) it doesn´t make so much smutty joke as I thought

Es ist trotzdem wahrscheinlich eher ein Sommerhobby, wenn man das im Garten oder draußen machen kann.


But I believe it will  be a hobby for summer if I can do it in the garden or somewhere outside.

Wir haben alle beide unsere Pantoffeln fertig bekommen und konnten stolz unser Ergebnis mit nach Hause nehmen.

Mein Produkt für Mini-Füße. Durch die kleine Schuhgröße und die gleiche Menge an Wolle, sind sie etwas dick geworden, aber das macht sie hoffentlich um so länger haltbar.
My product for mini-feet. beacuase of the small size and the same quantity of wool it is thicker. But I hope I will use them longer.

Kerstin wollte erst Blumen vorne drauf haben, hat sich dann aber umentschieden. Mir gefällt das aber auch sehr gut.
 Kerstin want to decorate with flowers, but decided different. This I also find nice.

Also richtig fertig sind sie natürlich noch nicht. Sie müssen erst noch einmal durchgespült werden, bis kein schmutziges Wasser mehr kommt, weil die Wolle ja ungewaschen war. Und dann muss das Ganze mit Essig neutralisiert werden. Durch die viele Seife sind sie voller Lauge. Ich habe das heute gleich erledigt und nun warte ich sehnsüchtig, dass sie trocken werden. Ich will sie endlich anziehen. Ich habe schonmal auf die Sohle Sockenstop gemalt, mal sehen, wie sich das läuft. Ansonsten muss ich mit Latex noch einmal nacharbeiten.
Den Ausschnitt für die Füße werde ich noch mit einem Zierstich umnähen, außen hübsche Metallknöpfe aufnähen und natürlich das handmade-Schild irgendwo anbringen!

Real ready they are naturally not. They must be rinse until the water comes clear and need an acid bath to neutralize the soap. This I made today and now I wait longing that they are dry. I want to waer them! I paint some sock stop onto the sole, I will see if it was to much. Otherwise I must use some Latex to make it more flat.
The cutting from the opening I will stitch, outside some nice metal buttons and of course the handmade label!

Übrigens findet noch ein Kurs im April statt. Auf der Homepage von dem Verein, ist das nicht mehr zu sehen, aber bei Sabine auf dem blog kann man den nächsten Termin finden.

Ich bin fertig :-) Ich habe die letzten Stiche gemacht. Nun sind sie endlich fertig zum ausführen. Die erste Reise wird am Wochenende anstehen, wenn sie die Alpakas besuchen. Einmal mehr finde ich, die Farbe ist der Kracher.

I´m ready :-) I made the last stitches. Now they are ready to go out. The first travel will be on this weekend, if I visit the Alpakas. Once more I find the colour is the burner.
