Vogelwoche - A Birdies week

Unsere Amseln sind ein weiteres Mal ausgeflogen. Und bis zum Schluss war ich nicht sicher, ob es nun tatsächlich alle 4 Amseln geschafft haben, zu schlüpfen, oder ob wirklich eines auf der Strecke geblieben ist. Ich habe auch nach mehrfachem Schauen nur diese eine Eierschale gefunden, so dass ich ziemlich sicher bin, dass wirklich eines verloren war. :´-(

Our black birds left once more the nest. And till the end I was not sure if there were really 4 babies or if one was lost. Also with looking again and again I only found this one eggshell so I´m almost sure

27. Juni:

2 Tage nachdem ich gesehen habe, dass die Küken geschlüpft waren. Ich habe immer extra geschaut, dass die Mama nicht da war, damit sie sich nicht gestört fühlt und hatte öfter Glück, als ich gehofft habe.

29. Juni:
Wieder 2 Tage später sind sie schon fast komplett befedert.

Es ist fast immer früh morgens, wenn ich zur Arbeit fahre. Schnell einen Blick in die Hecke und wenn Mom nicht da ist, wird die Kamera gezückt
It is almost in the morning on the way to work that I have a fast look into the hedge. And when mom is absent I pick the camera and shot a picture... or 2.

Morgenfütterung... Scheinbar hatte ich am Vortag kein Glück. Dass ich das erwischt habe, war wohl Zufall: ich war einfach nicht schnell genug wieder weg :-D

Man sieht schon die Pünktchen auf dem Gefieder, die Schnäbel sind nicht mehr so breit, es ist wohl kurz vor Tschüss
You can see the light dots on the feathers, the beaks are no more wide. I belive it is short before good bye.

07. Juli:
Das Nest ist leer. Dieses Mal haben sie sich nicht einmal verabschiedet...
The nest is empty. this time they left without greeting...

Ob sie noch ein ein viertes Mal kommt? Mal sehen. Ich werde schön kontrollieren. Aber auch wenn ich mir vornehme, das nächste mal nicht jede Feder einzeln zu fotografieren, wird das wohl nicht gelingen. Es ist einfach zu schön, so etwas ganz nah zu haben. 

If the come again for a forth time? We will see. I will have a look every day. But also when I think next time not to shot every new feather I afraid I will not keep the camera off. It is too nice to know that such pure nature in the near.


In der Zwischenzeit waren die Finger nicht faul.
In the meantime the fingers were not lazy.

Eine Freundin hat mich gefragt, ob ich auch Figuren häkele. Bei dieser Frage dachte ich an hilfreiche Unterstützung. Am Ende stellte sich heraus, dass ich aus Zeitmangel und aufgrund von Zeitdruck die ganzen Figuren häkeln sollte. Naja, nun noch Nein zu sagen, wäre böse. Zumal ich gesehen habe, was es werden soll. Wer möchte schon eine Hochzeit versauen? Also habe ich an einem Wochenende dieses hübsche Pärchen genadelt. Ich finde sie richtig putzig und freue mich, dass ich ich nicht 2x darüber nachgedacht, sondern einfach losgehäkelt habe.
Mit Baumwollhäkelgarn sind sie so klein, dass sie nicht irgendwann als Staubfänger in irgendeiner Kiste verschwinden, aber ich musste ein wenig improvisieren.

A friend asked me if I also crochet 3D forms. With this question I was thinkuing she need a little help. At least I should make it complete because of too less time and to much pressure for finishing. Ok, now to day No would be bad. Especially as I have seen what it is. Who want to crash a wedding? So I hooked this cute pair of doves on one weekend. I like it and are happy that I did not think a second time about it and started to crochet.
With crochet cotton they are so small that it will not end one day in a box. But I had to improvise a little.

Als Dankeschön habe ich eine wunderschöne Filztasche und einen netten Schlüsselanhänger bekommen. Seitdem summe ich immer wieder "Your song" vor mich hin ♪... ♫

Ende Mai bin ich beim Stöbern im Internet über eine Anleitung für eine Strickjacke gestolpert, die in einem Stück gestrickt wird und trotzdem eine runde Armkugel hat. Außerdem fand ich das Dreieck im Rücken recht lustig. Neugierig habe ich mich mit meinem Zentnergarn dran gemacht und losgestrickt. Irgendwie schaut das Bündchen bei mir anders aus, als bei allen anderen. Aber wie immer, wenn man permanent einen Fehler durchzieht, schaut er aus, als müsste es so sein. Weil ich nicht permanent nur an dieser Jacke rumgestrickt habe, hat es etwas gedauert, aber nun ist sie fertig.
Trotz meines genialen KnitPro Nadelsystems habe ich keine freie Nadel gefunden, um ein Seil einzuschrauben, dass lang genug ist, um regelmäßig die Passform zu prüfen, also war es auch ein bisschen ein Blindflug. Aber Garn ist ja genug da. Bei den 3 Anproben, die ich doch gemacht habe, hatte ich schon so ein Gefühl, dass da reichlich Platz ist. Aber ich wollte ja auch noch prüfen, wie sich das Ganze zum Schluss in der Waschmaschine verhält und vielleicht durch Schrumpfen passend wird.

End of May I found in the Internet a page with a pattern for a swaeter that will knitted in one piece and has also a round armball. Also I lekd the triangle on the back. Curious I started to knit with my tonyarn. The neckband looks different than on all other piczures. But as always: when you continue a failure it looks like it must looks. As I didn´t knit only on this sweater I needed a little more time but now it is finished.
Despite of my briliant KnitPro needle and cable system I did not have an empty needle to use it with the long cable to make always a test wearing. So it was a little blind flight. But yarn I have enough. with ethe 3 times I wear it nevertheless I got the feeling that there is a lot of space. But I also wanted to check what happen in the washing machine and if it will shrinked then.

Alles zusammen war es recht abwechslungsreich beim stricken, so dass keine Langeweile aufkam, die ein so großes Teil schnell mal in der Ecke als Ufo landen lässt. Ich hätte mir gerne einen etwas breiteren Kragen gewünscht, den man am Hals bei Bedarf zusammenkuscheln kann. Darum habe ich auch die Ärmel bewusst kurz gelassen. Als Weste  mit Wärme im Rücken ist es so genau richtig. 
Und sie ist tatsächlich reichlich zu weit... zumindest mir. Der Schwiegermama passt sie perfekt. Ich habe sie in der Waschmaschine im Wollwaschgang eine Runde drehen lassen, sie ist nicht geschrumpft (hmpf) und auch nicht verfilzt (grummel) Sollte das am Ende ein Supergarn sein? 

Alltogether it was varied to knit so that I had no boredom and the piece received in an empty edge as UFO (UnFinishedObject). I wished the necklace would be wider so that I have more in the neck. But for that I let the sleeves short. Now it is a vest, warm on the back.
And really too large... at least for me. For mother in law it suits perfect. I put it into the washing machine and let wash it with the special wool program. It was not shrinked (hmpf) and not feltet (mutter). Should it be at the end a super yarn?

Noch ein Knöpfchen dran und gut. Ich werde noch eine für mich stricken, vielleicht dann mit langen Ärmeln.

Ich hab ein neues Spielzeug gefunden. Ich bin schon eine Weile darum herum geschlichen, bin aber immer wieder davor zurück geschreckt. Wie es geht, hatte ich schon mal nachgelesen. Aber anders, als auf dem Triloom muss die letzte Lage eben richtig gewebt werden.
Und natürlich musste ich es gleich ausprobieren. Glatt weben mit Garn, dass so einen kurzen Farbverlauf hat, hat mir schon bei den Trapezen sehr gut gefallen. Es hat so einen schönen schottischen Touch. Kein Teil sieht aus, wie das andere. Und dieses Acrylgarn hat genau die richtige Stärke.

I found a new toy. I looked a long time on it without catching. How it works I found out easliy. But different to the triloom system the last layer has to weave real.
And of course I must try it right now. plain weave with a yarn with short color changes I liked also on the trapeziums. It has a nice Scottich touch. No piece look slike the other. And this acrylic yarn has the right yardage.

Am Anfang dachte ich, dass sich das Gewebe nach dem Runternehmen vom Rahmen reichlich zusammenzieht, aber nachgemessenermaßen sind es grade mal 2mm.

At the beginning I thought after removing from the frame it will be much more smaller but measured it is only 2mm.

 

Also habe ich in meine Acrylkiste für Spielzeugfiguren gegriffen, und ein paar Muster ausprobiert. Auch in dem schwarz Zentnergarn habe ich versucht, Muster zu weben, aber da sieht man das überhaupt nicht.
Links ist noch ein Versuch in 4fach Sockenwolle, diese ist etwas dünn, wäre aber im Zweifelsfall trotzdem blickdicht. Und auch wieder ein schönes Schottenmuster. Rechts unten ein Versuch mit einer uralten Wolle, die auch so recht keine Verwendung findet. Aber auch mit gleichmäßig gemusterter Wolle kommt ein Muster nicht so gut zur Geltung.
Im Paket des Rahmens waren genau 2 Muster und die Erklärung, wie das Ganze funktioniert. Aber bei eloomination findet man nicht nur eine tolle Auflistung, was es für unterschiedliche Rahmen im Lauf der Zeit gab, sondern auch die Handbücher dazu. Und vor allem einige Musterhefte und reichlich Projekthefte. Die Modelle sind schon etwas aus der Mode, aber trotzdem nett anzuschauen. 
Die einfarbigen Muster sind aus einem der Musterhefte. Da schaut das Ganze dann schon besser aus. Für gemustertes Garn kann man dann ja immer noch glatt weben.

So I robbed my acrylic stash an dtried some patterns. Also with the black millionyarn I tried to weave apattern, but it is too dark. Nothing seen from the heart I wove.
Left side on the picture also a trial for 4ply sockyarn. It is a little too thin for this frame but if i would decide to make some clothe fromit you cannot look trough. And once more a nice Scottish Tartan.
The red colored on the right side was a very old yarn that found not yet a project for. But also with regular colored yarn a pattern is not easy to recognize.
In the package of teh frame were 2 patterns and a description how it works. But on eloomintion you find not only a long list of all existing frames and manufacturers, you also find the basic manuals for them. Some pattern booklets and a lot of project brshures. The models are from the middle of the last century but looks cute. The unique colored are from one of the pattern booklets. With this the patterns a re good to see. and for colored yarn I still can plain weave.

Links der Wein hat wieder schöne große Trauben angesetzt. Ich habe ihn inzwischen zurück geschnitten, weil er gerade reichlich austreibt und damit ein bisschen Kraft auch in die Trauben geht. 
Die Dahlien stehen auf der Terasse. Die Ersten, die dieses Jahr blühen, sind gelb. Eigentlich wollte ich ja mehr orangefarbige, weil man mit denen beim Färben so schöne kräftige Farben bekommt. Außerdem habe ich für Gelb genug andere Rohstoffe. Nun ja, sie ist die Einzige, die blüht, warten wir ab, ob sich die beiden anderen noch dazu entschließen können, mir wenigstens zu verraten, welche Farbe sie haben. 
Rechts wohnt mein Indigo inzwischen auch an der frischen Luft. Er schaut recht mickrig in die Welt, aber wenn man genau hinsieht, bekommt er nun an allen Blattgabeln neue Triebe. Ich denke, hier ist Geduld gefragt. Ich hoffe, ich bekomme ich über den Winter!

Left the vine has again big grapes. I cutted it in the meantime. because it need a lot of space and I want to have the power in the fruits not in the leaves.
The dahlias are on the terasse. the first that show a flower are yellow. Usually I would have an orange one as I have seen what beautiful heavy color they have to use for dyeing. For yellow color I have enugh other recources. Ok, it is the only one that flower. Let´s wait if the others show me what color they have.
right side the Indigo is now living outside. It looks little ill. But if you have a intensive look on it you see on every old leavestem that a new one will come. I believe patience is asked. Hopefully I bring it through the wintertime!
  

Kapuzinerkresse liebe ich in allen Farben und Schattierungen. Und heute habe ich zum ersten Mal ein paar Blüten auf den Abendbrot-Salatteller gelegt. Nicht nur zur Zierde, weil ich weiß, dass es essbar ist. Aber es schaut einfach nett aus.  

Nasturtium I love in all colors and shadows. Today I took some flowers for the dining salad. Not only to make my plate colorful. I laos know it can be eaten. But it looks nice.

Auch eigentlich mehr zur Deko gekauft: Sauerampfer. Dass der essbar ist, war ein Grund, warum ich ihn mitgenommen habe. Der andere, weil er mit den roten Blattadern auch ein bisschen Farbe ins Essen bringt. Wider Erwarten schmeckt er gar nicht so sauer, wie der Name vermuten lässt. Eher ein bissel herb, wie Rucola. Soll winterhart sein. Wir werden sehen...

Usually also picked for decoration: sorrel. That it can be eaten was one reason to take it, the other also it makes the meal varied. Except of the expectations it is not sour. It taste more tart like rucola. Should be frostsafe. We will see...

Ein weiterer Versuch, an natürliche blaue Farbe zu kommen: Färbeknöterich. Entweder habe ich die Samen zu spät gefunden und ausgesät, oder er hat jetzt einen zu dunklen Platz. Je nachdem, was hier noch passiert, kann ich meine zweite Tüte Samen im nächsten Jahr vielleicht besser handhaben...

Another trial to catch a natural blue: dyeingknotweed. Either I seed it too late in the year or the current place is too dark. Depending how it will grow for the rest of the year I will handle my second package of seeds next year better...

Yippieh, seit ein paar Jahren mal wieder eigene Tomaten. 3 unterschiedliche Sorten. Ich hoffe doch, sie schmecken. Es wird wohl keine so reichhaltige Ernte, dass ich mal ein Chutney wagen kann. Aber wer weiß. Vielleicht braucht man dafür ja gar nicht so viele Früchte...?

Yippieh, since a lot of years I have again own tomatoes. 3 different kinds. I hope they taste. With only 4 plants it will not a big harverst to make a chutney. but maybe I do not need so many fruits...?

Der Wein noch vor dem Rück-Schnitt. Ich hatte es im Herbst schon einmal versucht, mit dem Weinlaub zu färben, aber da ich keine euphorischen Aufzeichnungen finde, ist es wohl eher sanft geworden, als das woanders gesehene Neongrün :(
Es köchelt mal noch ein Weilchen vor sich hin, kühlt mal wieder ab dazwischen und wird dann wieder angeheizt. Keine Ahnung, ob das was bringt. Zumindest ein Bild will ich dieses Mal machen...

It cooked a little than it cool down and cook again. I don´t know if that brings a result. But I will make a pictire this time...

Und der Lavendel hat wieder schöne lila Blüten und duftet ganz wunderbar. Ich mag ihn so frisch gar nicht abschneiden und den Geruch einsperren, also warte ich, bis er abgeblüht ist und schneide ihn dann ab. Die noch leicht zarten lila Blütenreste duften dann immer noch genug, dass ich sie in Duftsäckchen füllen kann. Und das Trocknen geht um Einiges schneller ;-)

And the lavender has again nice lilac flowers and smell beautiful. I dont want to cut it as fresh as now and put the smell into a box. So I wait until it is ready and cut it then. It smell enough also then that I can fill it into fragrant sacs. And drying is much more faster ;-)

Meine Schwester war zu einem Überraschungszwischenstop da und hat diese interessante Flasche mitgebracht: ein Brot in der Flasche (da muss ich wohl ein anderes Bild machen, schaut ja gruselig aus, mit dem Flaschenbauch vom Dekanter dahinter), noch ein Bier drankippen und backen. So steht es zumindest auf dem angehängten Rezept.
Mir hat das so gut gefallen, dass mir sofort meine australische Engländerin eingefallen ist, die mit ihrem Mann in der Küche gerne Experimente macht... beim kochen und backen! Gesucht, gefunden und gleich vom Shop aus nach England geschickt. Es lebe das Internet!

My sister came to visit me and make a short stop on the way home and I got this beautiful bottle (I believe I must make another picture. It looks creepy with the dekanter behind), only add a bottle of beer and bake it. So it is written on the receipt.
I liked it and remind me that my australian English friend and her husband like to make experiments in the kitchen... with cooking and baking! Searched, found and shipped directly from the shop to UK. Long live the internet!

selbstgenähte Kissen. Und was für ein schönes Muster sie haben! Sie passen perfekt zu meinen neuen Sofaüberzügen. Aber auch, wenn ich die mal nimmer mag, passen sie immer noch perfekt zum Sofa. Was am interessantesten ist: das Muster dieser explodierenden Kreise sind sie Nationalblume in New South Wales in Australien, wo Laris herkommt. Wir haben mal einen Bericht im Fernsehen gesehen, in dem erzählt wurde, dass es ein Pflanze gibt, die nur blüht, wenn es vorher gebrannt hat. Entweder handelt es sich da um eine andere Pflanze, oder der Reporter hat nicht genau hingehört. Die Waratah blüht auch, wenn es einen Buschbrand gab, aber nicht ausschließlich dann.

What is most interest: The pattern of the exploding circles are the national flower from New South Wales in Australia where she comes from. We saw one time report in the TV they told there it has a flower that only blossom after a burn. Eihter he spoke about another plant or the reporter misunderstood something. Waratah also flower after a bush fire, but not only then.

Mit im Päckel eine von der Schwiegermama selbstgemachte Karte. Den Katzenkopf habe ich gleich erkannt. Dass es sogar eine ganze Katze ist, habe ich erst gesehen, als ich ein Stück weit weg stand.

Together in the package was also this nice card with greetings. Made from her mother in law. That it should be a cats head I have seen right now, that it is a complete cat with a little distance. I like it!

by the way Laris: my kittens are also crazy for the crackers! I bought some years ago similar from Kittekat and they did not have a second look on it. From your crackers the first bag was empty within 2 minutes :-) And in the week after receiving your nice package I have seen in a supermarket the same crackers in an advertising. I din´t took it as I did not know at that time, if they nap it...
