Jetzt nach dem Waschen sieht man auch, dass nicht alles Baumwolle ist, das sich weich anfasst. Bei dem Pink und Rosa war ich mir ziemlich sicher, dass es eine Kunstfaser ist. Das waren nämlich Saumfäden von Fleecedecken, die ich als Jackenfutter für meine Nichten verarbeitet habe.
Now after washing and thumbling you can see that not all threads were cotton. With the both pink I was really sure that it is acryl yarn. It was the seam thread of two fleece blankets I used as lining for Jackets for my goodchilds.
Das ist zwar schon ein Stück her (mindestens 3 Jahre) aber an aufgeribbelten Saumfäden lagen noch rum. Grade genug, um auf eine Webspule zu passen, nicht genug, um das Muster zu beenden.
It´s a longer time ago (minimum 3 years) abut the unraveled threads I did not trash. It was enough to fill a weaving coil not enough to finish the second towel.
Und hier sieht man auch, dass es klug war, ein Muster zu machen, der Mix aus Baumwolle und Kunstfaser im Schussfaden macht den Rand krumm, weil sich die Kunstfaser nicht zusammenzieht und entspannt, wie die Baumwolle.
And here you can see that it was a good idea to weave a test. The mix of cotton and acrylic yarn in weft make a crooked edge.
Das ist der Kettfaden für mein nächstes Projekt. Es liegt schon ein Jahr im Schrank...
This is the warp for teh next project. It wait since one year...
...es ist der Zwillings-Fiberclub von Chanti. So recht wollte ich da nicht dran, weil mir der dunkle Teil zu dunkel war. Dann habe ich zwischendurch überlegt die beiden beiden Hälften getrennt zu halten und entweder den "Wave after wave" Schal oder den "Spectra" von Stephen West zu stricken, dann wieder habe ich überlegt die beiden Farben getrennt zu spinnen und und zusammen zu zwirnen. Aber wie auch immer, ich habe dann erst einmal mit einer Hälfte angefangen. Beim spinnen habe ich dieses Mal blaue Finger bekommen. Entweder war zu viel Farbe in der Wolle, die nicht rausgespült wurde, oder es wurde nicht genug fixiert. Das zweite kann ich mir bei Chanti eigentlich nicht vorstellen, aber damit hatte sich das miteinander verzwirnen erledigt. Ich habe schon genug Garne von anderen Lieferanten im Entspannungsbad verfärbt und der helle Ball ist so schön, dass ich diesen Farbverlauf gerne erhalten möchte. Also habe ich das Garn mit sich selbst verzwirnt und einen Schuss Essig ins Entspannungsbad gegeben.
... it is the twin-fiberclub from Chanti. I did not spin it as the dark part was not so nice I found. Then between I thought to spin and twist both part separate and use for the "wave after wave" shawl or the "Spectra" from Stephen West.Later I was thinking to spin separately and twist together. However I started with the dark part and got blue fingers.
Eihter it was too much color in the wool or it was not enough fixed. The second I cannot believe from Chanti, but I decided to twist not together. I made enough yarns from other wool supplier, which discolor in relaxbath. And here I want to store the light colors. So I twisted the dark yarn with itselve and gave a little acid into the relaxbath.
Und mein neues Spielzeug hat mir halt auch gleich einen Verwendungszweck angeboten, der auch richtig schön zum Zwillings-Thema passt: ein gewebter Schal mit Kettfaden in dunkel und Schussfaden in hell. Das ganze im Rosenmuster. Das sollte doch genau richtig sein.
And my new toy gave me an idea what this yarn will be that suits to the twin-theme: a woven scarf with the dark part as warp and the light part as weft in rospath pattern. I think this is really the right.
Dann will ich mal mit dem hellen Teil das spinnen anfangen. Sobald das dunkle Garn trocken ist, kann ich die Kettfäden schären und anfangen aufzuziehen. Bis ich damit fertig bin, habe ich sicher das helle Garn auch fertig. Die vielen Feiertage sind vorbei und es ist ein Haufen Arbeit zu erledigen, so dass die Spielzeit nun doch etwas eingeschränkt ist.
So then I will start to spin the light part. As soon as the dark yarn is dry I can make the warp. Until I finish this I should be ready to spin the light part.
The bank holiday time is away and a lot of work is waiting so the playtime is little limited.
Ich hab auch gleich noch einmal nachgeschaut, was meine Blau-mach-Pflanzen so treiben.
